Ted Failon:The Renowned Journalist Mario Teodoro Failon Etong aka Ted Failon is a recognized broadcast journalist, radio commentator, and a previous congressman representing the first district of Leyte (2001-2004). He was born on March 29, 1962 in Tacloban City, Leyte. At the very young age he works to support his studies. He graduated at St. Andrew’s School Parañaque in 1974 for his elementary education. He then continued his high school studies at the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Las Pinas Campus Department of Business High School in 1979. He took up the course of AB Economics in Colegio de San Juan de Letran and at the same time working as DJ along EDSA and Cubao, Quezon City. Failon earned his Bachelor in Broadcast Communication degree from Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Manila in 1996. He also attended of Laws program at Arellano University.

In 1983-1988, He works at Radyo DIWA in Tacloban City as a Radio Announcer. In 1988-1990, he became the Program Director at DWGV-FM 99.1 in Angeles City, Pampanga. Afterward, he moved to ABS-CBN and later on became the Executive Producer and News Anchor from 1990 and 2001. In 2001-2004, He ran and elected as the 1st district Representative in his hometown, Leyte. After his term, he goes back to ABS-CBN and continued his broadcasting career up to the present.

He has been hosting television and radio programs covering news and public affairs. He then happened to be popular after his co-hosting on Hoy Gising program. He also taught at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines pertaining to journalism subjects. Currently, Ted Failon is one of the main news anchors of TV Patrol World together with Karen Davilla and Julius Babao, the flagship news program of ABS-CBN. He is also the newscaster and radio commentator in DZMM (ABS-CBN radio network) and co-hosts with Korina Sanchez
in the radio segment “Tambalang Failon and Sanchez”.
