Jejomar “Jojo” Cabauatan Binay was born in November 11, 1941. He is currently the Vice President-elect of the Philippines of the Philippines after winning the 2010 elections with 14,645,574 votes. Jejomar Binay is also the President of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), President of the United Opposition (UNO), Boy Scouts of the Philippines and the chairperson of Asia-Pacific Region Scout Committee.
He studied at the Philippine Normal College Training Department and University of the Philippines Preparatory High School and graduated his bachelor’s degree in political science and Bachelor of Laws from UP (LIB). He became part of the youth fraternal organization Order of DeMolay, Loyalty Chapter, Manila, Philippines. This movement is under the control of the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay of the Republic of the Philippines, sponsored by Free and Accepted Masons. In March 16, 1996, the DeMolay Leadership was awarded to him from the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay for outstanding leadership and DeMolay Legion of Honor. He also joined Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity in the University of the Philippines.
In 1968, he took and passed the bar exam and enrolled masteral subjects in public administration and law at the University of Santo Tomas and UP. He then taught law, public administration, and political science subjects at Philippine Women’s University, St. Scholastica’s College, Philippine College of Commerce, where at present being called Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
He did not collect attorney’s fee to the poor clients and to the victims of human rights abused by Marcos. He has always passion for the poor by protecting their individual rights. Driven by this passion, he joined UP Student Council and was held being University Councilor where he was acknowledged revolutionaries of the expanding student association.
