Maria Carminia Lourdes Cynthia Arnaldo Gutierrez was her given name aka Chin Chin Gutierrez. She was born on November 22, 1972 in Manila, Philippines. She is a famous actress and environmentalist.
Her father is Dr. Hermes Gutierrez, a botanist and Cecilia Arnaldo, a painter. Chin Chin Gutierrez is the niece of former LVN star Lita Gutierrez. She studied her elementary education at Stella Maris College and Philippine Christian University. She graduated her high school at Manila Science High school and St. Francis School College. She took up Bachelor’s Degree of Communication Arts in Miriam College. She then continued at Southeast Asian Interdisciplinary Development Institute (SAIDI) for MA/PhD program in Organizational Development (major in Transformative Spirituality).
In 2006, She is founded the ecological foundation “Alaga LAHAT”, where is the president. This organization is a member of Eco-Waste Coalition. She was also an officer and founding member of Mother Earth Foundation.
She is a known vegetarian that’s why she was featured in an advertisement for PETA ASIA-PACIFIC of which she alleged that fish are friends not food.
She had received multiple awards. In 1995, she was awarded as Best Supporting Actress in Gawad Urian for “Maalaala Mo Kaya: The Movie”. In 1996, she was held as the Best Actress for the movie “Melinda”, the first Asian Television Award and in 1998, Best Supporting Actress for “Desaparacido”. She was also feature in TIME Asia’s as “Asian Heroes”. Also, she was the receiver of the “The Outstanding Women in Nation’s Service” (TOWNS) for environmental advocacy.
